When Jennifer Rodriguez was planning her wedding last year, she wanted a special invitation to announce her marriage. She wanted something unique that wouldn't break the bank.
She couldn't find it.
So, Rodriguez and her mom made their own invitations, and a program that included a music CD.
"My wedding coordinator kind of flipped over it and she really liked it," Rodriguez said. "I thought, we may have something here."
After receiving a huge positive response from the invitations and programs, Rodriguez and her mom, Sandra Bell, decided to start their own company called Belle Paperie. Married since April, Rodriguez, 27, lives in Queen Creek and Bell lives in Vancouver, Wash. The duo works with couples across the country to create a custom wedding announcements.
"We work with every budget," Rodriguez said. "If your budget is really, really tight, we'll show you how to do it. If you want it dipped in gold with Swarovski crystals on top, we can do that too."
Clients log into their account at
www.bellepaperie.com with a private password and can work with Rodriguez and Bell that way. Rodriguez also does in-home consultations with brides in the area.
"I want our clients to feel that they're our sole client," she said.
Belle Paperie also does invitations for corporate events or other parties like baby showers, holiday parties and divorce parties. They also do baby announcements.
"I'm young, nothing offends me," Rodriguez said. "It can be tame, or it can be edgy."
